Cottage on Lake Iroquois, Near Burlington

Description

This three-season cottage is on Lake Iroquois, just a short drive from the greater Burlington VT area. It is insulated and comfortable year-round, with a gas fireplace, but we generally limit rentals to April through November. It has a full kitchen, including dishwasher. A deck overlooks our lake frontage, which is down a short path. The lake is good for swimming and fishing–fish include smallmouth bass, northern pike, and others such as, of course, perch. We furnish a canoe for your use. The cottage is fully furnished, including sheets, towels, cookware, dishes, etc. We even stock a modest amount of food in the fridge, appropriate for breakfasts, so you won’t have to pack a lot of stuff and you won’t have to shop for supplies right away.

Amenities

With the furnishings, and some stocking of the fridge, this is almost like an unhosted bed-and-breakfast. It's a convenient place to stay in an attractive rural area, yet just a short drive from Burlington, Vermont's largest (though still not very large) city. It's a great home base for activities in the Burlington area, or throughout the region, including day-trips to Montreal.

Nearby Attractions

The biggest immediate attraction is the lake frontage, with a dock and canoe for your use. But beyond that, it's a great place to stay if you are in the area on business, or to visit the many colleges or cultural activities nearby.

Rates

We try to rent only by the week during the peak summer period, at $625 per week, plus Vermont's 9 percent rooms tax. At other times of year, the weekly rate is $575, and shorter stays are possible, with a two-day minimum. Reservations are held with a deposit of $100 with the balance due by the scheduled date of arrival. We accept all major credit cards.
